We really enjoy celebrating Festivals at St. Andrew's!
CHRISTMAS
Advent and Christmas are always special in a rural village, and we go to town!
Our Advent Family Service often includes a Christingle; we have a Carols by Candlelight at 6:30pm one Sunday evening; there's a Crib Service on Christmas Eve; also on Christmas Eve there will be Midnight Mass; and Christmas Communion on Christmas Day itself.
Add to that Carol Singing in the Crown and a party or two, and we're all guaranteed a happy Christmas!
LENT AND EASTER
Lent Starts on Ash Wednesday, when there is often a special service of Holy Communion;
Mothering Sunday is an opportunity for everyone to gather to say 'thank you' to mums everywhere with a gift of a posy of flowers; Palm Sunday includes the gift of a Palm Cross; and Easter Communion is a must for every Christian.
There are also services in our sister Churches in Holy week - the Last Hour at the Cross on Good Friday in Little Horkesley and an Easter Vigil service on Holy Saturday in Mount Bures.
FLOWER FESTIVAL
That's on the Spring Bank Holiday at the end of May each year - and this year will be included in our Jubilee celebrations.
HARVEST
Harvest is important to all rural Churches, and we make the most of the occasion; we present gifts during our Family Service which are donated to local Charities which serve those who are homeless or in financial need.
We often find a reason for other celebrations and special services, so please check our Weekly Benefice Bulletin
